"Lovely Coupeville" Coupeville by Jonathan_C
Coupeville Travel Guide: 12 reviews and 31 photos
Located in the rain shadow of the Olympic mountains, Coupeville is a lovely small town that is the main destination inside of Ebey's Landing National Historical Reserve. Founded in 1883, Coupeville preserves its short history well with many of the original buildings still in place. For a short history of the area, see this National Park Service page
Coupeville is walkably small, consisting of only a few streets along the water and Main St. heading out toward the farms. The waterfront stores house mostly restaurants, galleries and antique stores for the tourist trade. But Coupeville isn't always quiet. The calendar of events is active through much of the year beginning with the Penn Cove Mussle festival in March. Coupeville is certainly worthy of a day trip and makes a lovely base for car or bicycle touring in central Whidbey Island. Check out the Come to Coupeville page for lots more info.
Come to Coupeville for a touch of history, a taste of fine seafood and a retreat from urban living.

what a beautiful place - and hi neighbour - we are next to each other on the rankings this week
Good to see Coupeville represented here on VT! Quite a nice spot, as you say.
Hold the crayons for me, but the mussels from Penn Cove are justly well-known, as you aptly point out. And as our Slovene friend correctly noted a month and a half ago;-]
Ha, so finally I get to discover your page before Mark. The Mad Crab sounds great, I'll have Caesar salad, mussels and crayons, please.
