when it comes to accommodation, there are not too much choices in bamiyan. and they could be expensive. the cheapest guesthouse is the mama najaf hotel. it's just located at the center of the town, but it doesnt make any sense at all considering the small size of the town.
the rooms at the first floor are really dirty, cost 6 dollars per room and you can stay up to 7 people. the rooms upstair are much better, which cost 10 dollars per night, also up to 7 people.
you will sleep on the carpet. but remember nights in bamiyan could be very chilly, even in summer. so prepare well.
the other guesthouse in the town is much more beautiful, with common bathroom in the hotel (while in mama najaf you need to walk downstair to get into a UN toilet, which is in very terrible condition).
but the price is crazy. 10 dollars per bed per night.
Unique Qualities: the hotel has a small chaikhana also. you can stay in the dining hall (chaikhana) for free if you eat breakfast, lunch, and dinner here. it's the best way if you want to save your money. of course, dont expect privacy here.
