Pingyao Travel Guide: 189 reviews and 824 photos
I simply loved this village. It is the only twon to survive the Cultural Revolution intact and has recently been granted World Heritage Listing. It is starting to become popular with Chinese tourists, but still not many westerners there yet. For this reason we had some wonderful experiences with the locals. The Children and old people were expecially interested and friendly. The others could still spot a buck and we were treated as such, but I enjoyed it nonetheless.

sounds like fun. do u know nything about travel from xian to pingyao and thence to beijing? we plan on 2 nights in pingyao if we can find rooms dec 23 24. wish us luck.
