"Oh I wish I was in Wellington...." I always think of Wellington as Berkeley, California, without the mental illness.
Wherelse can you see a guy in a suit sharing the pavement with a guy in shorts and no shoes and nobody thinks anything less of either guy?
I love the diversity and comfortable scale of the place.
I love how my stomach gets all messed up from all that caffeine and beer.
I love the proper grans with blue hair who shop on Cuba Street alongside the skatepunks and folks with multiple piercings.
It's nice to stop into Te Papa to have a look.

Wellington's got to be the coffee shop captial of the world, and it's such a lively city, even in mid-winter. Yeah, I'd love to live there too, but I'd need to put on 100 pounds of weight or so, or I'll be blown across like tumbleweed. |
