Travelling through this rugged and mountainous country is like walking through the pages of National Geographic. Strikingly beautiful, yet perilous. Needless to say, everyone who has a telly at home know what this country has gone through. Decades of war and devastation are just about the only things this land has ever known. Only now that it is experiencing some degree of peace and freedom, that is quite unstable still. Pity because the country certainly has much potential. A real walk on wild side! |

| Pros: | "Stunning landscapes and mountains, historical value" | | Cons: | "Still a war-torn economy trying to rebuild itself, sporadic fighting between warlords particularly in the north and south of the country, small pockets of rogue Taliban fighters still wreaking havoc in the countryside, poor water and electricity, etc" | | In A Nutshell: | "Probably still a no-go for most travellers...I don't blame them." |
