Halifax Waterfront, by the Maritime Museum

Halifax is a nice, straightforward, maritime city, with a strong sense of heritage.

We started our trans-Canada trip here, and found it an excellent and easy introduction to Canada. Of course, it is completely different from the other Canadian cities we visited (Montreal, Ottawa, Toronto and Vancouver), and is not unlike some of the UK's naval ports.

It looks as if a car is a good idea in Halifax. Did you see any of the other maritime sites in N.S.?
