An unusual stop for us this as we usually spend most of our time in big cities.

We must admit that until we were planning our Baltic Odyssey we hadn't heard of the Ålands. But we weren't going to miss stopping off there having learnt about them. Couple of days was enough but they are a great place to chill out.

Most people who go to the islands never do more than change ferries there and go back the way they came. Because of an historical quirk they are a duty free zone in the Baltic. Its a shame that they don't see the islands although given the behaviour of some of them its probably better for the islanders that they stay on the ferries.

At some stage, we will go back!
