We visited Landskrona in May 2008 on our way on a day trip to Ven. Landskrona is the main departure point for ferrys to Ven, and frankly I hadn't expected very much. The main things I knew about Landskrona were that it was where the famous Swedish author Selma Lagerlöf (who appears on the 20 kronor banknotes) was a teacher here; that there was a big youth crime problem; and that Landskrona had the largest proportion of people voting for the far-right party in the last Swedish general election.
Since we had to wait a couple of hours before the next ferry departure, we decided to have a good look around. And we were very pleasantly surprised. We had a nice lunch at the Slottscafe, and then had a pleasant walk around the Citadel and along the seashore, before going to get the ferry to Ven.
On our way back from Ven, it was such a nice evening that we decided to stop off in the town centre for an al fresco dinner before getting the train back to Copenhagen. |
