Restaurant Name: Fjäderholmarnas Krog
Rather than eat in the city on the last night, we'd booked for a meal at a restaurant in the archipelago. OK it's just the nearest island so a 25 minute boat trip to get there. One of our friends had eaten there when in Stockholm on business and wanted to go back. We were very pleased we did. The restaurant is the sort of place that Swedish business people take foreign clients, but the atmosphere is friendly, great views over the water, friendly service, and most importantly very good food.
Favorite Dish: Only been there once, so too early to tell. I had the whole fried lemon sole with sultana raisins, capers, tomato and browned butter. Excellent. But all 5 of us left the restaurant very satisfied.

Restaurant Name: Mandus Bar & Kök
Fantastically friendly, but tiny, restaurant tucked away down one of the narrow sidestreets in Stockholm's old town (Gamla stan). The decor is a bit "funky", but the food is really excellent - up with the best of Stockhom's swankier restaurants. It is really cosy - great on a cold winter evening, and has a significant gay clientel. It is not particularly cheap to eat here, but the prices compare well to many of the more tourist orientated restaurants elsewhere on Gamla stan, and you can have a really good meal for less than you would pay elsewhere. Highly recommended.
Favorite Dish: Johanna's famous meatballs (with superb creamy sauce and mash), Reindeer steak (wonderful)

Restaurant Name: Magnus Ladulås
Cosy rustic restaurant and bar in an attractive and atmospheric part of Gamala Stan, away from the main tourist drag. There is a comfortable bar out front and a small pleasant cellar-style dining area at the back. Good traditional Swedish food, including fresh fish and game. Informal atmosphere with friendly and helpful staff. In the mid price range, it seems to attract "locals" and tourists in equal measure, but is far enough from the really touristy part of Gamla Stan. Very good value. We paid around SEK 350 each for two courses and beer (about GBP 25). Good value.
Favorite Dish: Starters: Beetroot; Lörom (Kalix roe) Main: Venison; Lamb Desert: After all that, a couple of chocolate truffles with a double espresso does very nicely!
