"Birthday Weekend" a Key West Travel Page by sahel578

For my 25th birthday, my bf took me on a surprise weekend trip to the Florida Keys. We flew into Miami and rented a car to drive down the keys. We stayed in a lovely bed and breakfast in Marathan, FL. It was called Seascape and I highly recommend it. Just don't expect luxury with that $150 a night rate. It is someone's old house and the rooms are like sleeping over at your great aunt's house. But the grounds are beautiful. The brochure looks like you have a private beach.. and you do.. but its not the swimming type beach.
Key West was absolutely AMAZING! Crystal clear water.. so much to see and do. We should have rented the scooters, but instead we went around on foot. We only spent the day there.. we needed more time!
On the last day before we were to fly back to Houston, we drove back to Miami and FINALLY went swimming. We found our way to South Beach and ran down into this perfect clear water. There were a few baracuda's swimming close to shore, to my bf's delight. After a few hours in the water, we rushed off to the airport, still damp and reeking of salt water. At least my sun and salt curled hair looked great when we made it home!
