As far away from texas as I can get

Ubud

Nice Monkey in the Forest
I wanted to stay away from the really touristy areas. I loved Ubud. It was beautiful and the people were just so.. I dont have the adjectives. The community spirit is so strong here. That doesn't exist at all here in the U.S. We could learn so much from it.

The people are so good to each other. Its not about getting more tourist dollars than the other. Toursim is the lifeblood of this island and so they want you to have a good time and tell your friends. I think that those that have been to Bali, know what I am talking about. Bali is a paradise created for tourists, but there is more to it than that.

Yeah, the vendors can be very annoying. I think local gov needs to educate them. heheh. I'm often thought as Japanese tourist so they also try hard to see things to me. Hope you can visit Indonesia again!

Looks like you had a great time there -- I'd enjoy the monkey park too -- thanks for the information.
