On the banks of the Lago Maggiore, Stresa is the most popular location. There is something old-style in holidays by a lake. It reminds of novels by Edth Wharton and Henry James. It is especially true in this town, with its palatial hotels from the late 19th century or the early 20th.
If you decide to visit, you will be captured by its magic.

Pros:"Beauty all around"
Cons:"It is more a place for holidays than a town for real life"
In A Nutshell:"Definitely a must see"

Nice page, brought memories of our 2 day stay at the Bristol Hotel in 2005. It rained for 2 days , but we still visited the isle and beautiful palace.
