Berchtesgaden definitely deserves a visit if you happen to be in the region. It is also close to Austria, so I recommend a visit not only to those who are touring Bavaria, but also to those who are going to Salzburg (Austria).

One of my favourite places in Germany, I even tried walking up to the Eagle's Nest.
Next years trip. An extended journey beginning in Prague with plans to visit Austria. The roe and mushrooms sounds wonderful. I make something very similar as well as other venison dishes.
