Facade of The Purple Shamrock
Dress Code: To the best of my memory there is no dress code for the Purple Shamrock by day or by night. However, past a certain point in the evening they begin to charge a cover price to get in the door. At night I guess I'd say no sweat suits or gym clothes. Jeans and sneakers should be fine though.
Address: 1 Union Street, Boston, MA
Directions: The Purple Shamrock is to the left of Quincy Market (if you're looking at Quincy Market from the front) and directly across the street from the Holocaust Memorial which is highly visable.

An Tua Nua - Where the youth mix and mingle
BY DAY:
A cute place to get food and some drinks with friends for lunch or after work. It is especially nice in warm weather when the large front windows are open to the street and you can watch the world go by.
BY NIGHT:
A hotbed for those looking to hook up, shack up, get felt up, or just get messed up. Don't get me wrong, this place is very fun, but once the sun goes down it can be meat market extrordinaire. Half pub and half Dance club, this hybrid place has a little bit of something for everyone. Beware though - once last call approaches, most people are on the prowl to grab someone... anyone...to spend the night with.
Dress Code: You can go casual with jeans and t-shirt...they are not going to kick you out. If you're going specifically to get crazy on the dance floor you might dress up a bit. If you are going to troll for a one night stand you will probably dress to the hilt.
Address: 835 Beacon Street, Boston MA
Directions: In between the Fenway and the Boston University area... a few blocks up from Kenmore Square.

Dress Code: Jeans and nice shirt should be fine - I don't remember them being very picky.

View of Lansdowne St. - Fenway Park on right
You know you want to spend a crazy night out on the town in Boston, but you just don't know what you want to do? Hit up Lansdowne Street and you won't be sorry. The entire block is jam packed with a variety of dance clubs, lounges, bars and nightclubs all right next to each other.
Off the top of my head I can name the following places that I know are right there, located directly across the street from Fenway Park: (I used to live 3 blocks away!)
Axis: Dance club
Avalon: Dance club
Jillians: Three stories of games, food and fun
Jake Ivorys: Dueling Piano bar
Bill's Bar & Lounge: bar and lounge
MaMa Kin: live music, bar
Karma Club: dance club
Not directly on Lansdowne, but within a
2 min. walk from the Lansdowne Street/Brookline Ave. intersection are these places:
Boston Beer Works (food, brewery)
Boston Billiard Club (bar, pool)
BB Wolf (food, pool, bar)
cool bowling alley
Copperfield's (bar, live music)
Ps. If you're not within walking distance from this area like I was, take the T to get there and back again, unless it's past midnight, then you'll want a cab. It's worth the $...DON'T DRIVE.
Dress Code: Depends on the place you are going.
Most places are casual dress except for the Clubs like Axis and Avalon. At those clubs no jeans, sneakers or gym clothes are allowed. Dress to kill if you are going clubbing!
Directions: Lansdowne Street runs along the left side of the infamous Fenway Park (aka The Green Monster) where the Boston Red Sox play. There SO much going on on this street there is no way you'll miss it.
