Part of my Family Tree | The River Clyde - Glasgow, Scotland |
If you are a savvy world traveler, perhaps Glasgow is not on your 'Top Places to Visit' list, but for me the trek was long awaited. My grandfather was born in Glasgow (Clydebank), so I felt some kind of connection... however faint. Whatever brought me to visit, I am glad that Glasgow was a stop on my tour of Scotland, as it was a great introduction to this lovely land and it's people. |
| The family name on display for all to see! |
| | The Family Name Lives On Folklore in my family dictated that there was a street in Glasgow bearing our family name. Great Uncles were rumored to have had their picture taken by the sign on a pilgrimage back to the homeland, but then rumors surfaced that it was a fake, produced at an 'old time' photo stand on the NJ boardwalk. I had planned on looking for this street sign when I arrived in Glasgow, but we happened upon quite by luck on a stroll around the city. If the Glasweigens hadn't already made me feel quite at home, finding this gem surely did! |
