The Millennium Bridge in Newcastle/Gateshead
This is a very quickly developing city in the north of England. It's undergoing a successful transformation from a traumatic, post-industrial era. It is now proud of its innovative architecture (The Millennium Bridge, The Baltic) and ever-vibrant night life. The proximity of a major ferry terminal in North Shields and a modern airport makes the access from the continent very easy and affordable..
Domain Field by Antony Gormely
The Baltic, which used to be a flower mill, now hosts modern art exhibitions. The last major one was by Antony Gormely and was called Domain Field. The models were people living in the region.
Newcastle's Quayside
If you continue cycling this path in about 3 hours it will take you to the North Shields and the Tynemouth (the coast).
