"Iguazu Falls ...................." Cataratas del Iguazù by hermesus

Cataratas del Iguazù Travel Guide: 9 reviews and 43 photos

Gentle fog is hovering in the air, changing shape, dancing with itself. Happy and immense. The sunlight turns clouds of droplets into a spectacle of beautiful ghosts. The trees imprint their peaks on these clouds, leaving their silhouettes floating.

Water, as it flows smoothly underneath your feet, touches the skin of round rocks. Delicate, yet rising with excitement. Silky. It finds branches, small trees half submerged. It continues on its way towards the inevitable. When it's almost there, it is still unaware of what's about to happen. Calm but purposeful, follows its faith. There is silence. You can feel certain anticipation about it. Suddenly, a transformation takes place. Nice, cuddly and relaxed water reaches the void. It starts to loose its integrity. At first, it feels as if it was yet another rapid. It strokes the nearby patches of grass, playfully. In a moment it will find out what it really is. We know. Then it is too late. It speeds up more and more. Unable to influence the fall it starts to scream. While it falls it realises it's no longer peaceful. It has become a beast. Screams even louder. Thumping on the outstretched rocks it fulfils its new mission - to blast and destroy. This new fury is so powerful it takes over its nature. Completely. The roar is deafening.

There are amazing places on this planet. Occasionally nature creates a miracle where worlds amalgamate into magic. Even though you can't describe it you can feel it. This is definitely one of these places. It's everything. It's like a whirlpool of emotions and sensations. It pulls you in and surrounds you with its everpresent body. You find yourself submerged in a sea of thoughts. In the beginning it's so overwhelming you feel out of scale. After a while, however, you grow with it. It lifts you up and suspends you within its brute, but gentle and compassionate force. It is like a mother's earth womb. Violent, transformational.

Kamil, Your description of the water at the Falls is surreal, intense and enthralling. You have a great talent. The photos are revealing and help describe the immensity of the Falls.
