"City of Sun & Sweat!" Dubai by Bushman23

I stopped over in Dubai on my way home in 2006 for 3 days, thinking i'd get a look at the city, and so i could say i'd been there :-p well, i did get a look, but not for as long as i was expecting, for the simple reason that it was just to hot to handle!

Now, i grew up in South Africa, so i have a pretty good idea of what hot can mean, but the stifling humidity that greeted me when i left the airport (at 10pm, the teperature was 32 degrees, without humidity rating!) made me feel ill. So after seeing some of the city that night, i returned to the airport (hotels were out of the question, the ones i saw were way to expensive!) and wandered duty free for almost 30 hours...

Wonderful duty free

I kinda regret not seeing the city properly, but i'm sure i'll be back, in the dead of winter! From the little i did see, from the taxi as we drove back and forth, and from the air, it looks like an amazing place!

• Pros:Great Duty Free area at the airport :-D
• Cons:Summer is way to hot
• In a nutshell:I'll be back for sure!
