Kaka' Ako: affordable and good eats

If you are craving some good local food after a long day of shopping head to this restaurant. It's affordable and also tasty. It is centrally located in the center not too far from the Ward Theater and starbucks and cold stone creamery.

Favorite Dish: Mahi _Mahi is awesome and try the Chicken madras curry

Big Kahuna Burger: A whole lot of food

I know a lot of you have seen the movie "Pulp fiction". There was a scene there were they mention this big ole' burgers well I don't know if they are talking about this joint .If you are craving some kalua pork sandwich or some pizza then head out to this hole in the wall place. Located in the business district this restaurant offer some good eats with very reasonable prices. They only have a couple of tables so during lunch times better get in there early.

Favorite Dish: You gotta order the garlic cheeseballs and the kalua pork sandwich. for the pizzas I recommend the kanaka pizza it has shredded and bbq sauce..its yummy.

If you are craving for some good snadwiches this is the place for you. Located in Ward Center this joint offer some inexpensive but delicicous food. So if you are tired of eating big meals head down to this place. Just to give you a heads up coming here for lunch during workdays you might have to wait in line because it gets pretty crowded.

Favorite Dish: I recommend the Mahi with Ortega and cheese and order the homemade fries with it.

Bubba Gump: Shrimps Galore

If you have seen the movie " Forrest Gump" with Tom Hanks you know that in the movie his best friend is a shrimp farmer so for the sake of marketing they established this restaurant..In here you can have shrimp serve in every possible way I know it's a bit commercialized but the food is great and the atmosphere is awesome too.They also serve other dishes besides seafood so you have a quite of selection.Just watch out for the souvenir shop beside the restaurant total tourist trap.

Located in the Aloha Towers over looking the water is this nice microbrewery that also offer a great selection of food.

Kona Brewing Company: Local brews with some great food

The only brewery and pub in the big island they have some awesome lagers and ales I personally prefer the hefeweizen and the blond ale. They also serve some awesome sandwiches, pupus, great salads and some hand tossed pizzas. They are open for lunch and dinner daily and they also offer a brewery tour at 10:30 am and 3:00 pm M-F.

Favorite Dish: The Greek salad and any of the pizza

The Cheesecake factory: Cheesecake anyone?

If you are craving some good cheesecake this is the place to be in here you can try more than 20 different cheesecake I recommend you try the strawbeery shortcake one. Besides the cheesecakes they also serves some delicious dishes ranging from salads to pasta and burgers. If you head to this place make sure you come early because a lot of people come to this restaurant and if you wait later in the day you will end up waiting as long as 70 minutes. I recommend coming here for lunch it is a lot less crowded.

Favorite Dish: My favorite dish in here is Thai Chicken pasta..it has a peanut sauce and with a hint of spicyness. I have to warn you the servings here are very big so I suggest sharing a dish with somebody or maybe even order a half serving of the entree. Make sure to save room for some delicious cheesecake
