I'm a female in my 20's from the Bronx. I have lived in the NYC area all my life so I never had the *tourist experience* and haven't gone to many of the landmarks. I am somewhat of a Bronx fanatic and going to places in the Bronx to comapre them to old photos I have. I once did a project in high school that consisted of a Bronx quiz and display showing dramatic changes in the borough. I may not be good enough for Jeopardy, but there are a few things I could teach you about the Bronx. I studied the "rise and fall" of the Bronx extensively (since I was about 11) and love books, movies, and anything else about the Bronx.
- Pros:Cheap rents, Fordham Rd., the Zoo, Botanical Gardens, the architecture, and cultures
- Cons:Crime, neglect, graffiti, garbage, poverty, juvenile delinquency, massive housing projects
- In a nutshell:The Bronx is not for the weak of heart.

Nice pages and good info, especially on the Bronx. whenever I am in NYC next time, I will be sure to visit it.
The Grand Concourse seems to cover much of my life's journey...early life anyway.
Interesting page. I assumed Fordham Road, least the part I saw still had an Irish population due to the Irish flags I saw flying in many apartment windows and the Irish pub(s). Guess I must have been mistaken.
