  • Rent a longtailboat with captain and let him show you the lovely river.
See how lots of people live here. Houses on the water and children swimming there. Feed the big fish with bread. This is a great experience. Amazing views on temples and a lovely museum with beautifull royal longtailboats.

Chinatown: Pay a visit to Chinatown
  • Tip Rating:
  • I went to Chinatown on my last day in bangkok. It's worthwhile to pay a visit to worlds largest Chinatown. As soon as you arrive there, you'll notice that the whole atmosphere is different from the rest of Bangkok.

Lots of marketstands with food, clothing, silk, electronica, diamonds stores, jewellery. It's the whole scenery. You just have to see, smell and taste it to know what I mean.

I think I will also put Chinatown at my shopping tips, but even if you buy nothing it is worth to go there.

  • It's absolutely worth to visit this interesting and beautifull complex. It is fameous for it's 15 mtr high and 45 mtr long reclyning buddha, wich is a must see in when you vivit Bangkok. Ask for a guide to discover more of the temple's facinating history and secrets.

It's history learns that the temple, apart from being a relegious centre, had been Thailands first university.

Nice to know is that the traditional Thai massage techniques are from Wat Pho. Monks still teach those techniques still nowadays. You can follow classes here or just enjoy a traditional Thai massage here.

Keep in mind to dress properly and take of shoes when entering the sacret rooms of the temple. Please behave in a respectfull way since you are a guest in a religeous complex.

  • This royal palace and temple complex is absolutely impressive. An absolute highlight! You will see one beautifull temple after another. Thailands most sacred Buddha the emerald Buddha is kept here.

You can even take a look at it, but remember: Do not fotograph inside, take of your shoes and be dressed properly. Please be respectfull to the religeous people praying inside.

You can easy spend half a day here.
