One of Australia's favourite past times is drinking beer.
In Sydney we drink it as cold as possible.
The normal glass of beer is known as a schooner 425ml
If you are taste testing you can order a smaller glass known as a middy 285ml
A few Sydney pubs serve traditional pints 568ml
A very popular beer is Coopers. I like its flavour and the fact that it is preservative free means that hangovers are less likely.
Coopers Pale Ale (Green) is a good starting point.
I know it sounds bad to leave good beer behind but you should always leave the last mouthful of a Coopers in the bottle, due to it's natural fermentation process there is always a little bit of ingredient left behind. It does not taste so good by itself.
A schooner of local beer can cost you anywhere between AUD$3.00 - $10.00 depending on where you order it from.
Restaurants, nightclubs and cafes tend to more expensive than pubs.
Some other popular beers are
VB -Victoria Bitter (You can get it walkin)
Tooheys - New (The beer we drink round here)
XXXX - Gold (The beer of farmers and country folk)
