My home, our land

by cybergenic - last update: Nov 7, 2007

Sydney is where I was born, it's where I live, it's where I work.

When travellers ask me where to go in Sydney I tell them.

1.Blue Mountains
2.Manly Beach
3.The Rocks

The Blue Mountains offer some unique walks through some of the most breathtaking valleys you will see in Australia.

Manly beach offers everything Bondi offers but leaves a little breathing space. It's generally better for surfing and it's accessible by ferry.

The Rocks is as close as you will get to history in Sydney. As young as our heritage is, The Rocks is one of the last places in Sydney that has original buildings dating back to colonial times.
Sydney began its life as a penal colony, with a total of 568 male and 191 female convicts with 13 children, 206 marines with 26 wives and 20 officials having made the voyage.
Sydney is a very diverse city and with a population of over 4 million people makes it the largest Australian city. Sydney is a cultural melting pot. If you ask an Australian what Australian food is, they will more than likely name foods from the four corners of this planet. It's not unusual to see a Mexican restaurant, next to a Chinese take away, which is then next to maybe a Lebanese cake shop. We are continuously adapting and evolving with open minds and friendly smiles.

Pros:"Most beautiful harbour in the world"
Cons:"Property/rent is way too expensive"
In A Nutshell:"A diverse city in every aspect."
