"One of Brazils oldest cities" Camamu by cybergenic

Camamu Travel Guide: 6 reviews and 5 photos

a fairly busy little port town, Camamu is where the bus will drop you off so you can get on the water and head out to the lovely surrounding islands. There are a few banks, supermarkets, bus terminals and a tourist office.
The ladies in the tourist office were most helpful even with my woefull Portuguese. I suggest you visit them first before the touts get you and extort all your spare change :)

Pros and Cons
  • Pros:Has many ferrys leaving to the islands
  • Cons:Noisey and fairly over crowded, poverty
  • In a nutshell:The perfect place to stock up and get to the islands
