Many people I know dislike Bangkok. I think it is a funny town. Always something happening, food cooking deals on fake Rolex watches going down. Traffic jams, children playing on city streets. Rich men driving in Mercedes Benz, entire families on the back of a 2 stroke motorbike. |
| | As hectic as Bangkok is, it is still possible to find peace and tranquility in this city that never seems to sleep. The Chao Phraya river is never too far away where you can board a ferry boat and travel up the river to a temple or simply sit on a wharf and enjoy the sunset. |
| | I think an important part of Thai culture is their religion. Even in Bangkok where traffic jams occur around the clock and the driving techniques of taxi drivers and the tuk-tuks is questionable nobody loses their cool. Everyone seems to have an inner calm that over rides the need to yell out the window or curse violently. |
