German Federal Armed Forces'
Since Jan. 2002: Afghanistan/ISAF
The International Security Assistance Force (ISAF) is supporting the Afghan government in establishing and maintaining internal security and human rights. From February to August 2003 ISAF was under joint German and Dutch command.
Since Nov. 2007: Sudan/UNAMID
In late 2007 the German Bundestag approved a motion which is enabling the Bundeswehr to support the UN mission in the Darfur region of western Sudan, in particular by means of air transportation. The purpose of the mission is to protect the civilian population.
Music Corps of the German Federal Armed Forces'
Music Corps of the German Federal Armed Forces' ABC Abwehrbatallion 7 directed by Mrs. Cpt. Schuetz-Knospe, with a group of fine, young Soldiers, presented on a Benefiz Event a marvelous concert by playing Johannes Sebastian Bach (Allegro, Alla Sicililiana Adagio, Presto), Johann Christian Bach (Allegro Moderato, Adagio Molto Expressivo, Allegro Molto), Samuel Barber (Adagio for Strings) and Georg Friedrich Haendel (Andante Allegro, Larghetto, Allegro Moderato, Concerto Grosso, Allemande, Grave, Andante Allegro, Adagio, Siciliana, Allegro). Awesome. They also produced a Benefiz CD fuer den Aachener Dom (2002) which is a mix of Max Bruch (Swedish Folk Melodies), Joaquin Turina (La Oracion del Torero), Carl Reinecke (Serenade fuer Streichorchester), Antonio Vivaldi (Concerto per due violoncelli).
A place where one can find completion and recovery if one doesn't take short cuts. There are no absolutes in grief. There are no reactions so universal that all ppl will experience them.

Lemgo lies in the valley of the Bega, in the forest-covered Lippe-uplands, and it offers paths to ride or walk on which seem so un-touched, so natural, so un-discovered, and are reminding one of the Newton Poppleford area only the cottages are missing.

The essentially pagan character of the Easter fire festival appears plainly both from the mode in which it is celebrated by the peasants and from the superstitious beliefs which they associate with it. All over Northern and Central Germany, from Altmark and Anhalt on the east, through Brunswick, Hanover, Oldenburg, the Harz district, and Hesse to Westphalia the Easter bonfires still blaze simultaneously on the hill-tops. As many as forty may sometimes be counted within sight at once. Long before Easter the young people have been busy collecting firewood; every farmer contributes, and tar-barrels, petroleum cases, and so forth go to swell the pile. Neighbouring villages vie with each other as to which shall send up the greatest blaze. The fires are always kindled, year after year, on the same hill, which accordingly often takes the name of Easter Mountain. It is a fine spectacle to watch from some eminence the bonfires flaring up one after another on the neighbouring heights.

Fabio Grosso and Alessandro del Piero grabbed two goals in the final two minutes of extra-time to puncture the German World Cup party and send Italy into the final with a stunning 2-0 win...
Germany had been seeking their eighth appearance in the final where Italy were hoping for a sixth -- both countries having won the trophy three times.
The game began at a terrific tempo and it rarely dropped as each side passed sharply and probed forward.
The end-to-end approach continued after the break though neither side were able to muster the necessary precision to force the goalkeepers into serious action.
Sebastian Kehl, in for the suspended Torsten Frings, and Italy's Gennaro Gattuso were both dominant in screening their defences...
Germany had never beaten Italy in their four previous competitive matches including the 1982 World Cup final, but in the plus column they had never lost in Dortmund, winning 13 and drawing one of their 14 games there over 71 years.
If both records had remained intact it would have been penalties, where the Germans' World Cup record of four wins from four compared with the Italians' three out of three defeats would leave the hosts as favorites.
Perhaps with that in mind the Italians blasted out of the blocks in extra time and hit the woodwork twice in two minutes.
Substitute Alberto Gilardino carved through the retreating German defence but hit the post and then Gianluca Zambrotta smashed a 20-meter shot against the bar with Lehmann again helpless...
Germany coach Juergen Klinsmann "It's something very special to play a World Cup in your home country. We've a lot of young players with a lot of quality," he added.
Del Piero said it was hard to describe his feelings. "It was fantastic to be part of a match like that...
Italy coach "In my view we controlled the match. We played against 50,000 people... the German supporters were fantastic. We played a great game and we played better than Germany for the first 90 minutes."
