Here sits the Chamber of Industry and Commerce This old hanseatic town of Lueneburg lies at the north east corner of the Lueneburger Heath on the edge of the Elbe lowlands. Its many old brick built buildings are of the Late Gothic and Renaissance periods. The center's most charming pedestrian zone reminds (me) very much of Wiesbaden's beautiful Old Town's pedestrian zone (no Starbucks' here at least Subway though lol). Lueneburg's fame and former wealth is due to the "white gold" of the Middle Ages: salt. Many parts of the picturesque historic Old Town are signs of that "Middle Ages" time and are very worth visiting! |
| | Old Town I thought that was an awesome "expression" of time.. Anno 1610 "written" on this building of Lueneburg's Old Town, and then 2007 "written" on the photo taken from that building.
However, Lueneburg is yet an university city, "offering a young life with an historical surrounding. The new University of Lueneburg has 11,000 students..The University offers modern undergraduate and graduate programs with internationally recognized Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in 27 programs. The university moved to a new campus in 1997, when a former Army complex was turned into a university. It was a unique conversion project in Germany.." |
| | Old Town I've got a long list of real good reasons For all the things I've done I've got a picture in the back of my mind Of what I've lost and what I've won I've survived every situation Knowing when to freeze and when to run And regret is just a memory written on my brow And there's nothing I can do about it now.
I've got a wild and a restless spirit I held my price through every deal I've seen the fire of a woman's scorned Turn her heart of gold to steal I've got the song of the voice inside me Set to the rhythm of the wheel And I've been dreaming like a child Since the cradle broke the bow And there's nothing I can do about it now.
Running through the changes Going through the stages Coming round the corners in my life Leaving doubt to fate
Staying out too late Waiting for the moon to say goodnight And I could cry for the time I've wasted But that's a waste of time and tears, And I know just what I'd change If went back in time somehow But there's nothing I can do about it now

I'm forgiving everything that forgiveness will allow And there's nothing I can do about it now -Willie Nelson |
