It's a very lovely old town laying on the Lahn River. Entering the town the picturesque Schlossberg is very eye catching. High above the town rears the seat of Margraves of Hesse in the 15th and 16th centuries (and in 1529 "the scene of the Colloguy of Marburg between Luther and Zwingli"). Nowadays there's the University Museum of Cultural History located. Nearby is also the University Museum of Religion. This Hessian university town of Marburg has anyway many various institutes and also clinics/medical universities. |
