Transfer from Tenerife Airport & Tenerife Port

by Maria250 - last update: Feb 20, 2008

Los Cristianos port
Tenerife.. a Spanish island, is the largest of the seven Canary Islands in the Atlantic Ocean off the coast of Africa.. Like the rest of the Canary Islands, it is of volcanic origin. The last of the three eruptions that created the island happened about 3.5M years ago, although small murmurs occur. The most recent earthquake of about 4 on the Richter scale was in 2002..
The island itself is clearly divided into a very dry southern part and a very humid and green north. (wikipedia)

All international charter flights land at the Tenerife South Airport as well as most scheduled flights from the Spanish mainland.

From the Tenerife South Airport run regular bus services to Playa de Las Americas and Los Cristianos port (to the ferries). Buses depart hourly. Check on this link http://www.spanish-fiestas.com/tenerife/airport-transfers.htm

The ferries that operate from Los Cristianos' port sail for example to San Sebastián (on the island of LA GOMERA), to La Estaca (on the island of EL HIERRO), and Santa Cruz de La Palma.

Los Cristianos' port is a very busy and crowded passenger port, which is often used by tourists for day trips to either La Gomera or El Hierro. There are also boats which offer sightseeing trips such to the National Park of Las Canadas of Teide (Heritage to Mankind by UNESCO), to the Cliffs of Los Gigantes, or whale and dolphin watching excursions.

..the greatest number of tourists come from the United Kingdom, with more than 1,600,000 tourists in 2005. In second place comes Germany followed by Belgium, The Netherlands, Sweden, Finland, Denmark, Norway, Italy, France, Austria, Ireland and Switzerland. (wikipedia)
