Restaurant Name: Brick Lane
Anyone who thinks that fish and chips is our national dish needs to take a trip to Brick Lane on a Friday night! Whilst British food may be a bit of a non-starter, at least we have the Empire to thank for saving our stomachs. There are so many great Indian restaurants to choose from - just follow your nose! Most are pretty cheap and cheerful - great for a night out after the pub. I particularly like the Standard. Fine dining it isn't, but you can get a tasy filling curry . If you carry on walking to the bottom of Brick Lane there are a couple of great all night Bagel bakeries - the last legacies of the areas Jewish ancestry. Great for a late night snack - join the queue of clubbers and cab drivers.

Restaurant Name: Belgo
Belgo can be a fun night out but it has been a victim of its own success - you have to wait for ages to get a table and the service is sloppy. The quality can also be a bit hit-or-miss. Not a good destination for a romantic date - more for boozing with your mates (the beers are particularly good).
