hello. i love to travel... i love to tell other people about my travels... i love to show people around places i've travelled... so basically this seems to be the ideal website for me.
if you ever want to see pictures or hear more about the places i've been, just email me.
i've a tendency towards a few things in these pages... one, putting information that could be of use to anyone in country-specific pages.... two, being rather vague... three, sharing memories of mine (which are usually vague) instead of recommending places people should go. i'm saying this pq it pertains to what i'm going to say next. (on the side, i might also be guilty of using big words that i can't spell and cracking jokes that only i get. ah well.)
this is one (or two) of my generic tips:
i think that the most important thing when traveling - whether in your own country or another one - is to gain a different experience than what everyone else has had. you should see and do the things that interest you, not the things the tour guide tells you to. for that matter, buy a map and lose the tour... let them spend ten hours looking for you and go out and have fun on your own. (mind yourself though, there's no reason to be stupid and get hurt.) see the famous sites. be quick about it. then go find some things that aren't in the books. you'll end up going home with stories and pictures no one has seen before.
get to know the local people. sit and watch people... observe the way they walk, their expressions, the things they do. listen to their conversations. (side note, this goes with another opinion of mine. i don't think you should try and intrude on people's private moments, but if someone's talking loud in a restaurant then i think subconsciously they WANT you to listen.) i've found that talking to people isn't nearly as effective in getting to know them as watching them is. when you talk to someone they can tell you anything they want - it's a rare person who is completely trustful. alternatively, it's a rare person who will lie in their actions. watch. listen. you'll learn alot.
so back to what i was saying earlier... alot of my stuff here is vague and memorable, instead of being recommendations. i'd be honoured if you looked at my pages and i hope you enjoy them. think of them as stories of the good times i had and encouragement to go out and have good times of your own. i don't want you to do what i did.
i hope that makes sense. if it helps you any, email me and tell me about it.

in my constant quest to end my boredom i've decided to put quotes on all my pages (usually i dye my hair or pierce something). they'll be in italics and this lovely blue color. also, i've decided to put them in the cultural tips section... not that they really are.. but it makes it look nicer... at the bottom, like a final thought type of thing. i hope you enjoy it.
