My husband and I went to Kauai for our honeymoon. Everyone we know in California has been to Hawaii at least a hundred times. Being from the East Coast this was a first for me. We were warned that Kauaii didn't have much of a nightlife but since we were on our honeymoon we didn't mind!
We decided to stay on the south shore because of the weather. It doesn't rain as much on the south shore as it does up north. However some of the the best snorkeling sites were on the north shore and there is only one road to take you around the island. That means you can easily get caught up in some traffic. Ultimately I was glad that we were on the south shore on the days that we decided to lounge on the beautiful grounds of our the hotel.
I highly recommend the book The Ultimate Kauai Guidebook/Kauai Revealed. A co-worker recommended it and it was the perfect guide. |
