'Mode': AROUND
Category: Subway/Metro
Getting TO/AROUND: If you by a weekly metro pass, you will not need any other form of transportation to get around unless it's late at night. Most were very clean. Some were incredibly dirty. Twice I saw a homeless person urinating on the track or down a stairway. It is not uncommon to see homeless people sleeping in the stations but they never approached or bothered me. There are beggers the walk along the cars holding out their hands for money. But again, everyone seemed to ignore them and they weren't aggresive. My favorite Paris moment was walking in the tunnel to a station. It was late at night and a musician was playing the "Pink Panther" theme on the saxophone. Very cool.

Nemorino Fri Nov 3, 2006 20:21 UTC Sounds like you had a good time and saw a lot even though it was so rainy in December. But yes, you really should go back in the summer. I spent ten days in Paris last June and had a great time. (Even though there was a heat wave going on.) | whitecliff62 Sun Jan 29, 2006 07:37 UTC Hi Lisa, isn't Paris a beautiful city, loads to see and do, hopefully i will get back there this year, all the best Cliff | jolou Fri Mar 11, 2005 18:15 UTC The catacombs look great - I had never heard about them before. | ettenaj Mon Jun 7, 2004 21:25 UTC Great page , didnt see the inscriptions to the late Diana. |
