| Beautiful flowers everywhere even in December |
| | I went on a solo trip to Paris in December. I bought a few French language CD's to study before I left and this helped a great deal. The locals will be very pleasant as long as you make the effort to speak the language. This city is very easy to get around by metro. I bought a week long pass and had no trouble getting around at any time of day. Beware of pickpockets!!! Especially on the metro. As I was walking around the Sacre Ceour, several teenagers tried to grab my backpack but I managed to get away from them. You are less of a target if you try to blend in, ie putting your camera away when you are not using it. The food was outstanding. I was surprised at how beautiful the Eiffel Tower and Arc de Triomphe were at night. |

Nemorino Fri Nov 3, 2006 20:21 UTC Sounds like you had a good time and saw a lot even though it was so rainy in December. But yes, you really should go back in the summer. I spent ten days in Paris last June and had a great time. (Even though there was a heat wave going on.) | whitecliff62 Sun Jan 29, 2006 07:37 UTC Hi Lisa, isn't Paris a beautiful city, loads to see and do, hopefully i will get back there this year, all the best Cliff | jolou Fri Mar 11, 2005 18:15 UTC The catacombs look great - I had never heard about them before. | ettenaj Mon Jun 7, 2004 22:25 UTC Great page , didnt see the inscriptions to the late Diana. |
