Fiesta...with a bang!

When you see the size of a Maltese Petard before being let off is roughly 1 metre high and 30cm diameter....The time & workmanship spent in every Petard is unbelievable and consider that 2,000 petards are let off during a fiesta thats a whole lot of material and manhours!! But the maltese tradition is also enjoyed by the thousands of tourists who flock to village fiestas just to have a glimse of this colourful festival

VERY true. We were there in June and I have travelled over Asia and Africa and nothing prepared me for the searing heat in Malta. I am your original Mad dog but I stayed away from the midday sun.
