Achikochi...here and there
Achikochi - here and there - is probably one word you could use to describe my life so far. I was born and grew up in Münster, Germany, but have moved around quite a bit since then: besides Münster, Tübingen and Hamburg in Germany, I have lived in Maryland (USA), Nijmegen (Netherlands), Kyoto and Tokyo (Japan). I lived in Athens (Greece) from May 2005 until end of June 2006 and am right now enjoying life in Paris. I consider living somewhere when I have stayed in a place for at least six months.
People often ask me if I don't get tired of moving around and so far my answer has always been "no". I just love to explore new countries, experience different cultures and to make friends all around the world. I consider myself extremely lucky to be in the position to actually being able to live the life that I am living and - given the chance - I would not change a day of my life.
Besides Germany, Japan is probably the one country that I feel most attached to. I have lived in Japan for about four years and I just love the country and its people. It's difficult to describe what makes this country that is so different from any other country so special to me - it just is.
Not to forget that I met my husband in Japan :-)
Below are a few pictures that represent special times in my life so far - pictures from Japan, Germany, Greece, India, etc.
I hope you enjoy my pages!
