Agra is old city,famous for Taj Mahal.It was also capital of Mughal empire.Agra is famous for its cottage industries,and beautiful Mughal gardens,
for its narrow lane,and old Bazzars of the mughal times.
Its Famous for marble items,leather goods,&agra petah(its famous sweet in Agra :) ).
My first visit to Agra is 1984.I had chance to spend my summer holidays at Agra in 1984.For me after studying all Mughal histry in School books,it was good memorabel expericence
to see real Fort&Taj :))..
Other than Taj mahal,there were many places to see in and around Agra.Agra fort,Fatehpur sikri (37km from Agra),and Barathpur bird sanctuary etc.
Usually the best way to see Agra ,near by places is,stay at
Barathpur and make day trips to Agra,Fatehpur sikri ,Mathura,Jaipur.

Splendid. I plan on being in front of the Taj one day. Part of the reason why India as a whole remains on top of my list. |
