Example of best Buddist Architecture

Kanheri in Sanskrit, means Black mountain. Its Near to Mumbai.
This was the place, budda monks used as retreat, starting mid 2nd Century.
Its rock cut temples, used as Viharas ,means caves excavated in rock'&there living places.
Guide said it 109 caves overall. They used for there Penance&peace. So many tanks are there infront of caves, and they are connected with other tanks.
Its wonder still how they managed.

And Guide was telling when moonsoon days Mumbai people come here,to see natural waterfalls.
the water falls from tops, looks like waterfall.
Before going to Kanheri pack water bottle, you need water, when you go up &up top of hill :).
Entrance ticket Rs10.
Foreigners Rs 100/
You can buy booklet from nearby shop(canteen),Rs15 .

Guide charge Rs 80.

Going to Kanheri, one has to ready for walk ,to cover full hill.
It took 4 or 5 hrs to see all caves. If we go alone, you may lost in the Hill,
so its wise to take guide. And lot of Monkeys outside, have to be careful, dont take anything eatable,
outside they will come and take it from you :)
