Visalia

Visalia is located in California’s San Joaquin Valley, a large and agriculturally rich basin that runs through the center of the state. Equidistant between San Francisco and Los Angeles, Visalia can be found just east of Highway 99 on Highway 198, the pathway to the Sequoia National Park.

Founded in 1852 and incorporated in 1874 Visalia serves as the county seat for Tulare County, the number one agricultural producing county in the nation. Visalia has experienced tremendous growth in the late twentieth century, from a population of 27,000 in 1970 to over 91,565 today. Occupying over 27.68 square miles, Visalia continues to grow - in population, diversity, and sophistication. Once a creekside settlement, Visalia has become a thriving community that takes pride in the small town feel and high quality of life that accompanies our big city amenities. Visalia is also home to the infamous BaTwOmAn.
