Casa De Fiesta: Mexican Margarita on the Old Town Plaza
  • Tip Rating:
  • Satisfaction:
  • Restaurant Name: Casa De Fiesta

Chips and salsa passed the taste test. The Margarita was OK. Since we came in the late afternoon, the server was particulary fresh and attentive to our needs. The beef used for my wife's fajitas seemed like the recooked meat from lunch, but the server immediate returned the dish to the kitchen for a repeat performance without questions. Ordered tacos. The fresh tortillas were served separately, so I made my own. This is a decorated Mexican restaurant with a view of the plaza and makes no apologies for catering to tourists like ourselves. The restaurant also has a full bar, which may get lively in the evening. It seems upon investigation that at least one former patron gave this restaurant a low rating, but I could see how this place could be a mad house on occasion during high season.

Favorite Dish: My tacos were very good. What can I say. Everything was fresh, and the cubed pork was excellent. As I said, my wife had initial problems with her beef, but that was quickly resolved. I had left early, letting my wife pay the bill, so that I could walk the dog in the plaza. When I walked by, I was told that I had skipped out of the desert that came with the meal.

Chili outdoor lights from Albuquerque - a little bit of NM to take downunder - were fun. Navajo weaving and Zumi basketware satified my love of traditional crafts. leyle
