Paris Foods and the Town of Trappe

Trappe, Maryland is located off US 50 on the western side of Delmarva Peninsula (on which all of Delaware and a small part of Virginia are also located), and has a population of 1,146. Located in Talbot County, it is within the Choptank River watershed.

I had to deliver some frozen veggies, in bulk bins, from a Michigan cooler to the brand name Paris Foods cooler in Trappe, MD. This is a relatively small food processor, but I was able take the time to walk the dog downtown and see this historic town. It was close to Halloween.

Tiny Trappe hasn't changed much in it's 250+ years of history. The rural setting around the hamlet is similar to the land estates of the founders who migrated from Virgina and first settled the region of Maryland around 1740. Unlike much of Virginia, however, Trappe was not destroyed by Civil War. It remains a great place to wander a bit on foot and look for historic homes being restored by their owners.
