One of my favorite restaurants in Amstelveen.

They serve a lot of great food for a good price.

Nice atmosphere, friendly people!

Restaurant Name: Boerderij Meerzicht

A pancake house in the Amsterdamse Bos, the Amsterdam Forest. A great place to have a break during any activity in the forest.

Especially very nice for children, there is a playground and a little animal farm, even with deers!

Restaurant Name: Cafe Uilenstede

The one and only cafe/restaurant of the student neighbourhood/campus Uilenstede.

Decent food for student prices. Cheap drinks compared to the prices in the center of Amsterdam!

Opens at 17.00, after 21.30 the kitchen closes but you can still order snacks.

It is possible to play darts, and sometimes there are special events such as karaoke, check the website.

In the summer there is a terrace outside.

Favorite Dish: Kipsate with fries is their all-time special.

Directions: Tram 5 or metro 51, tramstop "Uilenstede". Go left after the stairs of the tramstop, and the second opportunity left again. Just walk straight on from there.

Restaurant Name: Silversant

A very cosy cafe/restaurant. Good food, big portions, very friendly personnel.

Every 2nd Friday of the month live bands and free entrance.

Open: Sunday-Thurday 12.00-02.00, Friday 12.00-03.00. CLOSED ON SATURDAYS!

Restaurant Name: PRAQ

PRAQ is a trendy restaurant that takes kids into account:

Besides a special menu for kids up to 12 years old (served on unbreakable plates), there is a smoke-free playing room for kids where they can enjoy themselves while you are enjoying your excellent food. There even is a special room for babies, where you can change diapers or breast-feed in privacy. Especially in the weekends it is a good idea to make a reservation!

Located next to the river Amstel, they also have a terrace where you can eat with superb view.
