"Cabauwse Jacobsroute" Cabauw by Pijlmans

On the picture you see a small path, leading from the village Polsbroek to Cabauw. Catholics used to walk this path from Polsbroek to the St Jacobs Church in Cabauw.

Jacobs Church

The church dates from 1928 and is dedicated to the apostel Jacobus. Relics of Jacobus are kept in the Spanish city Santiago de Compostela. Possibly, Cabauw used to be a stopping place at a pilgrim-route to Santiago.

Pasture along the Cabauwse Jacobsroute

Cabauw is a village on the Cabauwse Jacobs route, a 14 km long and marked hike along a small river and through pasture. This hike starts in the village Schoonhoven and includes the beautiful mill Bonrepas, and the village and church of Polsbroek. Also the church path (Kerkepad) on the main picture is part of the hike.
