The forest around Lake Berovo was a bit cooler, but unfortunately the lake is not well suited for sunbathing or swimming, which was a bit disappointing.

There are several churches to be seen, such as those in the
Monastery of Archangel Michael and the Monastery of St Presveta Bogorodica.

The region is also known for it's hiking possibilities and a free map with hikes is available at the town hall.

We hiked to the Ograzhden Peak between Berovo and Strumica.
