"Konjsko: Two villages, one name" a Konjsko Travel Page by Pijlmans

There are two villages in the south-west of Macedonia called Konjsko; Since VT only lists one of them at the moment of writing (i.e. Konjsko at Lake Ohrid), this page is for both villages. Both villages are geographically close to each other, but seperated from each other by the mountains of the Galicica National Park.

Konsjko at Lake Prespa is the last village before the border with Albania, on the western shore of Lake Prespa.

Konjsko at Lake Ohrid lies south of Ohrid, in the hills overlooking Lake Ohrid.

We passed through Konsjko at Lake Ohrid on a hike from Velestovo to Pestani.

It is nothing more but a few houses, a source, a church and a WWII monument...It's quiet and rural.

It is difficult to get to Konjsko at Lake Prespa by car, since the asphalt road stops shortly after the village Stenje. You preferably need a 4WD to continue on the unpaved road, although it is possible with a normal car. Alternatively, you can walk from Stenje to Konjsko, it's about 8-10 km.

On the unpaved road from Stenje to Konjsko, there is a small church called St Ilija.

Allegedly, Konjsko at Lake Prespa has a very nice beach, as well as a small cave church dedicated to St Elias, but we did not visit either of them.

We only were very shortly in Konsjko, to hire a boat with captain to take us to the island Golem Grad in Lake Prespa. The trip takes about 30 minutes.
