Velestovo is a rural village about 5 km from Ohrid , in the mountains of the Galicica national park, overlooking Lake Ohrid.

You will find the road to Velestovo near the petrol station on a roundaboud in Ohrid, just before you leave Ohrid on the road to St Naum, on Bulevard Turistica.

There are very good panoramic views of Ohrid from Velestovo.

There is a very interesting church in Velestovo, Church St Presveta Bogorodica Precista, or St Most Holy Mother of God Most Pure.

The church is located on the local graveyard.

Velestovo is a good starting point for hikes into the National Park Galicica. We did a hike from Velestovo via Konjsko to Pestani from here, and a hike into Galicica itself.

Also a marked mountain-bike trail into Galicica starts near Velestovo.
