KUALA LUMPUR

Welcome to KL

Sunny KL from diggingdeep's camera
Selamat Datang or Welcome to Kuala Lumpur!!! (or just K.L as locals call it). KL is one of the best cities in the world to me(hmmm ok, ok i might be biased). I'm always mesmerized by KL's beautiful modern and historical architectures. ( if u see a tall lanky person staring into the sky in the middle of street with his mouth open, its probably me). KL has a beautiful blend of sky scrapers but not to the point of choking and covering the whole city like a concrete jungle. The beautiful historical buildings with touches of past British colony and Islamic influences make this city modern, yet cultured.

There are 2 million people in multi-ethnic/cultural KL but its growing very fast with people moving to the city from the outskirts of Malaysia and immigrants. The three main races of Malaysia are Malays, Chinese and Indian. However, its getting more Rojak ( a term malaysians used to describe a mixture, also a name of a fruit salad which are mixed together with prawn paste) with the number of people migrating to KL from all over the world, mainly from the UK.
Malay is the official language, but English is spoken widely, almost like a second language and Chinese and Indian dialects are widely spoken too.
Terima Kasih or Thank You for visiting my KL page!

I miss KL so much whenever i read or hear about it. I've lived in KL all my life until Feb2004 when i moved to Perth, Australia to further my studies. Hope you guys will enjoy my KL page and if there's anything you wanna know about KL, just msg me : )

Malay (Kedah/Perlis) style asam laksa is my absolute favourite. No petis udang please. And lots of wild celery (don't know its name in English). Malaysia should really promote this noodle dish overseas as the ultimate health food!
