U Tri Bubnu ( House at the three drums )
is a 15th Century building situated just around the corner from The Old town square.
Modernised in 2002 it gives you a great feel of the past with all mod cons.
All the bedrooms have original exposed timbers. We stopped in room 13 ( Lucky for us ) which was on the 3rd floor . Access was via a stone spiraling staircase.
The cost was 80 UK Pounds per room , per night.
A point to note is, if you pay by credit card as I did, there is a 3% charge.
The rooms come equipped with satalite (sp?) TV, direct dial phone, fan & Mini bar ( the minibar prices were 50 crowns per item for water , beer , and coke , all in small cans or bottles ). Buy your own drinks while you are out and take them back, its a lot cheaper.
Unique Qualities: A great feel of the past, with up to the minute mod cons. The accomodation was clean and spacious. Huge fat pillows! - a must for the weary traveller. We kept the fan on at night because open windows attract green flying insects that are attracted by the light.
