Just saw Mitch Hedburg there this Saturday 5/29/04. I had never been there before so I'm not sure if it's always set up like that but the place was packed and because the club is very narrow and long with the stage at front it was really hard to see the acts. I think it would be a great place to see a jazz show there because the bar is really great and if they set up small tables with candles the place would be perfect. Too many people in a small place really takes away from a show though I think. we had a great time though, Mitch Hedburg is one of my favorite comedians!

Picture of The Chapel, old mortuary turned bar
Happy Hour is my favorite hour, there are tons of great places to go in Seattle with cheap foods, cheap drinks, amazing view from decks overlooking oceans and lakes. Check out this website for some of the best happy hours in Seattle www.sevennites.com
Some of my favorites are as follows:
<b>Eastlake Bar and Grill</b> -East Lake Union. 4-6 daily Large deck that over looks Lake Union. Huge list of great foods from $1.95-$3.99 and $3.50 wells and beers www.eastlakebarandgrill.com
<b>The Chapel</b> -Capitol Hill 5-8 daily. This is an old mortuary turned into a bar. Really cool ambience and all their martinis, which is an extensive list, are $4.
<b>The Jones</b>-Maple Leaf/Northgate 4-6 daily. $3 micros and wells, discounted appetizers. Try the chicken strips, best I've ever had! http://www.thejonesbistro.com/
<b>McCormick and Schmicks</b> 4-6 and 9-11 daily. No cheap drinks which is a bummer but the food is top notch and cheap as it can be $1.95 for everything including fish tacos, steamed mussells, bruschetta, 1/2 lb burger and cajun burger, spinach and artichoke dip...the list goes on. http://www.mccormickandschmicks.com/media/Bar_Menu.pdf
These are only a couple of my favs, be sure to check out sevennites for more!

bar at the rendezvous
We just discovered this place last weekend when we saw a movie in the small maybe 50 person theatre. Big City Dick was one of the movies in the film fest that has played very rarely so we jumped on the opportunity. The place was great, the bar was set up really great, not to crowded and these comfortable plush seats all around the place and in the back the small theatre, which really suprised us. We sat in the booth in the back where we had drinks and could have even ordered dinner while enjoying the movie. All in all it was a ton of fun and we will be back soon. Also I believe the theatre is used for plays and comedy as well. Dont miss it!
Address: 2320 2nd ave.
Directions: Located in bell town, a great place thats within walking distance to all sorts of other bars in case you get bored. Right down the street from the Croccodile cafe.

The Duchess is a great neighborhood bar full of Husky spirit. This place has tv's, pool tables, darts, shuffle board, and a great fireplace to relax. The walls are full of husky sports figures and old time pictures of local highschool football teams and friends that still now have kids of their own doing what they once did. Great deals on beer and food, but don't expect anything gourmet, if greasy is good then this is the place for you. People have come to this bar for a long time mostly for the great atmosphere and a good time!

showbox sign
After 22 years of living here I had never seen a concert at the Showbox one of the very best music halls in Seattle. We had the most amazing time ever. We had a chance to see De la Soul in November '04, first we went to Pike Place Pub and Brewery across the street to get dinner and drinks then we headed over to the concert and sat in the bar until they let us in the show. Inside the show there are 2 huge bars as well, we were down on the floor dancing the whole time but the place is so much bigger then I imagined and it was just such a great place to see a show.
Dress Code: Depends on the show, check their website sometimes hats, jeans, etc aren't permitted.
Address: On 1st ave across from Pike Place

The Paramount
Check out their website before you come to town and if you can check out a show here, it's a great place to see a concert. The last time I saw a show at the paramount was 2000, we didn't even have tickets but somehow scalped great front row seats in the balacony which has a wonderful view.
Address: Downtown Seattle, right off of I-5, see website

Outside of the ram in University Village
This is a great place to have one of their wonderful Big Horn beers that they brew right there in the restaurant or one of the many great pub foods. The bar is enormous and mostly caters to the UW students but it's a great place to sit back and watch a game or just catch up with friends. There are several locations I'm talking about the one in University Village.

We had drinks here right before we saw a comedy show at Urban comedy cafe, it's kind of a yuppy upscale type place where you shouldn't even think about having dinner here without reservations. It's in a good spot downtown, and the bar was nice with really great bartenders. Oh and for all you ladies out there the bathroom has a tv playing old romantic movies in it, kind of different. I think it might be kind of overpriced but then again I didn't have dinner, just drinks.
Make reservations before hand!
Dress Code: I wouldn't recommend wearing jeans, its crowd is the young downtown professionals.

Look for this sign on 35th
This is a great place to kick back grab a pitcher of beer and an amazing meal. They have quite the menu there and live music on certains days of the month. It's a beer only type bar, you know the places, and it's everything you could want from your neighborhood pub. The menu is amazing, sandwiches, soups, pizza and great salads. If your thirsty and just want to relax and even hear some music friday, saturday or sunday stop by the Fiddlers Inn.

Century ballroom
This is a very hip venue that was named by Seattle Magazine the bed place to learn to dance.
People of all ages, races, and genders come together here to learn to salsa, swing, tango and lindy-hop. There are also alot of great groups that come here.
