Love at first sight - Part 1

Just done with my Apprentiship in July 1996, I travelled to Canada with my parents and my sister. Among all the cities we have visited in 18 days, Vancouver made the best impression on me.

Mountains, the ocean, the climate, Downtown, the Asian touch and of Course Stanley Park.

Of course I felt in love with this city right away and my heart was bleeding as I had to fly back home. Then I knew that I have to go back to Vancouver!

Addicted....

Just a year later I travelled to Canada with my best friend Silvan. We stayed almost a week in Vancouver and it felt like coming home. I still remembered the streets and the shops and had the chance to stay a bit longer than the first time.

But still.... that wasn't enough to be satisfied enough.

Love at first sight - Part 2

It took another 3 years until September 2000 to return to Vancouver.

But this time it was different: I had the chance to stay 3 months in the city of my heart. I wanted to sharpen my english skills and it was obvious to stay in Vancouver to do so.

One thing happened then, that Vancouver will always have a special spot in my heart....

At the very first day at school I met this cute and pretty Korean Girl... we were a couple after a week and spend three great months togehter. That was probably the best time I've ever had.

My fourth trip to Vancouver

Well, I spent most of my vacation in korea and once we met each other in Vancouver again, where it all started. That was in February 2002. I stayed there for 2 weeks to visit my best buddy Silvan, who spend 6 months as well in Vancouver. I wasn't the only guy who loved Vancouver!

In April 2003 my Girlfriend and I finally moved together and we got married on July 1st. It all worked out perfect. My wife and I have one thing in common: Great memories about Vancouer, the city where we felt in love!

Pros and Cons

Pros:The Location, the Asian Touch
Cons:To far to spend more time there!
In a nutshell:My favourite city outside of Switzerland!

Hello Carino, I liked your Vancouver page. I was studying English in Victoria in 2003 and I think those two cities are the most beautiful ones in all Canada. Regards from Mexico City!

You have the same dilemma as I do: wanting to spend all your time in Vancouver but then there would be nothing left for other travel :-) Great page on a fab city!
